The 23rd Annual Nike Tournament of Champions will be held December 17-21, 2019 in Phoenix, AZ. The event will feature 112 elite teams from 22 States, including the majority of the preseason top 25 teams in the nation.

Established in 1997, the Tournament of Champions is hailed as the greatest interscholastic basketball event – for boys or girls – in the world, and has long been considered the de facto National Championship for American girls’ basketball.

Since its inception, the Tournament has produced the consensus National Champions 19 times in the last 21 years; during that span it has hosted a remarkable total of 377 State Championship teams from 42 different States. The Tournament has also been a showcase for most of the brightest young stars in the sport; over two decades it has played host to hundreds of high school All-Americans and future collegiate and professional stars, and its alumni include 8 Olympians and 22 WNBA All-stars, including five #1 draft picks.

For Coaches


The head coach or a designated representative must register between 4:00 P.M. and 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, December 17th, in the main lobby of the Arizona Grand Resort. At this time you will receive tickets to the tip-off dinner (if you RSVP’d); tickets to the NIKE Coaches’ Party (see below); coaching credentials; and important schedule information.


The Tip-Off Dinner (free for all rostered athletes and coaches) will be held on Tuesday, December 17 at 7:00 P.M. at Rustlers’ Rooste, located directly above the Arizona Grand Resort. Attire is casual; the dinner will include BBQ food and a country western band. You must RSVP no later than Monday, December 2 for tickets to the dinner. Teams that RSVP will have tickets included in their registration package; if you do not RSVP, you will not have tickets



Certified athletic trainers will be available at all playing facilities.

  • Players wishing to be taped must provide their own pre-wrap and tape; none is available on-site.



The great NIKE Coaches Party will be held from 8:00 P.M. until late in the Lobby Bar at the Arizona Grand Resort. Please join your fellow coaches for free food, beverages and a chance to win terrific prizes.



A NIKE game ball will be provided, but teams are responsible for bringing basketballs for warm-up

Although venues may vary in providing water or Gatorade, please plan on bringing bottled drinking water.

Certified athletic trainers will be on site at all venues, but players wishing to be taped prior to games must provide their own tape and pre-wrap.

The top team listed in the bracket is the home team and will wear light uniforms. The bottom team listed in the bracket is the away team and will wear dark uniforms.

In accordance with NFHS rules there will be four 8-minute quarters, a 10-minute half-time, 5 time-outs per game, lane players may go on the release – they do not need to wait for the ball to hit the rim, and bonus will start at 7 fouls and double-bonus at 10.

Each team will have a minimum of ten minutes to warm-up.


For College Coaches

Each team will play one game per day on December 18, 20, 21, and 22. Games will begin at 10:00 AM on December 19 and conclude at 4:30 PM on December 22.

College coaches may register for the event between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 18 in the main lobby of the Arizona Grand Resort, located at 8000 S. Arizona Grand Parkway, Phoenix, AZ 85044, and again beginning at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, December 19 at Power House Hoops, located at 4600 E. Cotton Gin Loop, Phoenix, AZ 85040.

Recruiting guides including contact information for all 112 teams are available but not required for admission. Cost is $180 for NCAA Division I and II and NAIA coaches, and $90 for NCAA Division III and junior college coaches.

Tickets are $10 per day for adults and $5 per day for children (under 12) and seniors (60 and over).

Tournament passes, valid for all games on all days, are $35 for adults and $20 for children and seniors.

For the 19th year, the AAA-Four Diamond Arizona Grand Resort is the Official Resort Hotel for the NIKE Tournament of Champions.  Rates are just $104 (plus taxes and fees) for a 540 sq. ft. suite.
